MNS Graphite

ITABELA PROJECT

Itabela graphite project in southern Bahia, Brazil

The Itabela Project is a Brazilian natural flake graphite exploration asset in southern Bahia. MNS Graphite holds three contiguous ANM exploration permits covering 2,589.63 hectares near the BR-101 highway within the Bahia–Minas Graphite Province.

Tenure and location

The mineral rights are ANM proceedings 870.735/2021, 870.755/2021 and 870.756/2021. The property lies in the Itabela, Porto Seguro and Eunápolis region, approximately 8 km from the Santa Cruz Mine. Proximity to paved roads, power, towns and an operation producing the same mineral informs logistics but does not imply geological or economic equivalence.

Evidence assembled to date

Available work includes 1:10,000 geological mapping with 138 recorded outcrops, 91 described and 58 sampled, plus ten electrical-resistivity lines. More than 50 outcrops show visible flake graphite. Lines L8 and L9 produced priority conductive signatures for follow-up.

Conductivity does not prove graphite: clay, moisture and sulphides can generate similar responses. Interpretation requires complementary methods, drilling and laboratory assays.

Next de-risking milestones

The proposed due diligence integrates data in GIS, assays available samples for graphitic carbon, applies induced polarisation over selected targets and completes shallow auger or air-core drilling. Its purpose is to produce direct evidence for a go/no-go decision before a larger systematic programme.

  • Confirm the source of anomalies
  • Measure initial Cg grades
  • Test thickness and continuity
  • Select samples for mineralogy and metallurgy

Stage and information limits

Itabela does not yet have definition drilling or a mineral resource or reserve. Conceptual figures, regional analogues and surface occurrences do not replace an estimate under CBRR/CRIRSCO, NI 43-101 or JORC. Investors can therefore assess the project against its next verifiable milestone rather than a premature promise.
